The Community Enhancement Programme (CEP) 2019 was recently launched by the Department of Rural and Community Development. This programme provides funding to community/voluntary sector organisations to progress capital projects based in or targeting disadvantaged communities. Examples include: office equipment, development/renovation of community centres, community amenities, youth clubs/facilities, sports/recreation facilities.
The CEP is administered through Kildare Local Community Development Committee (LCDC). The total budget available to this programme in Kildare is €148,013. Applications for grants are invited from community groups and organisations across Kildare. The minimum amount for application is €10,000. There is no upper limit.
Kildare LCDC is allocating CEP funding in 2019 to:
- Match fund Kildare LEADER capital based community projects targeting disadvantage, that are at an advanced stage and at risk of not progressing due to a shortfall in match funding required
- Complete capital projects targeting disadvantage that commenced under the Kildare Town and Village Renewal Scheme that do not have the funding required to complete their project
The LCDC, will if funding allows, consider applications that fit with broader Kildare LCDC/KCC capital priorities that respond to disadvantage.
