SICAP is a national social inclusion programme focused on the most marginalised in Irish society. It aims to tackle poverty and social exclusion through community development approaches, local engagement and partnership between disadvantaged individuals, community organisations and public sector agencies.

There are Two Programme Goals

  1. To support communities and target groups to engage with relevant stakeholders in identifying and addressing social exclusion and equality issues, developing the capacity of local community groups, and creating more sustainable communities
  2. To support disadvantaged individuals to improve the quality of their lives through the provision of lifelong learning and labour market supports;

SICAP 2018-2022 is overseen and monitored by Kildare LCDC and implemented by County Kildare LEADER Partnership CLG.  SICAP is informed by the Kildare LECP plan and responds to priority social inclusion issues highlighted in the county.  For further information on SICAP activities, please visit www.countykildarelp.ie
